North America has discovered this difference and, for the most part, haven't kept it much of a secret. Everyday I leave my house, I discover that the rest of North America has realized that there is indeed something different about this place.

God only knows how long the weather channel girl has been singing its praises, but for at least 30 years I've have heard first hand about how this is the place to be.

I'm talking about Florida, the Sunshine State, and more specifically South Florida. People flock to this peninsula mainly because of the weather - but the everyday lifestyle that consists of many outdoor activities is what keeps people down here long after their week long vacation ends. I've heard of people coming down here for a three day getaway, and never go back - except to pack up their belongings. Thousands of new residents come to the Sunshine state to claim it their own, and thats something that not too many places around the country can say.

I've been living in south Florida for a bit longer then a decade and it has been an exciting and rewarding experiences every step of the way. So, everyone knows about the nearly perfect weather that engulfs the state and they may have heard about the long stretches of beaches that are located here - but the nightlife is just as impressive. Second to maybe New York and Los Angeles, it should come to no surprise why 'A-listers’ set their sites on coming down to enjoy some fun in the sun.

it is true, that from time to time the weather does give us some trouble down here. Since I've lived here, there has been 3 hurricanes that have swept in through the area - and although they are scary, one does understand that is a side effect for living in paradise. The Northeast has snow storms, the Northwest has mudslides and the middle of the country has to deal with tornadoes, and since the hurricane season hasn't been quite as powerful, the risk is still there. Living in the Sunshine State does have its share of side effect.

Another exciting thing about escaping to south Florida is all the difference influences that engulf this area. South Florida invites different food, drinks and flavors to the area which adds to the excitement of being a part of the areas flair. The night clubs that sit along Collins Avenue in Miami or Las Olas boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale have some unique sounds that, in a lot of cases, haven't broke through to the rest of the country - which makes South Florida the birth place of a lot of popular music. The island influences come through in the areas food and drink as both allow your taste buds to travel to where these flavors originate.

Adventure on both land and water awaits you from the time you wake up till the time last call is announced. Sunset cruises allow you to witness one of natures most beautiful spectacles. Outdoor activities more your thing? Golf is just the tip of the outdoor activity iceberg, as there are more golf courses per square miles located here then most places in the country.

This salty piece of land has welcomed people from all over. I suppose that adds to the diversity that is south Florida living. No reason is needed why there is such an influx of people that come down here and, for some, choose not to leave. So, if you're looking for a new lifestyle and escape that cabin fever like existence, come down to South Florida with a suitcase full of shorts, cotton t-shirts and your favorite pair of flip flops.
